1. Thule Urban Glide 2 Jogging Stroller

1. Thule Urban Glide 2 Jogging Stroller - overall best full-size stroller

Dimensions: 35.5 x 35 x 15.5 inches

Weight: 25.3 pounds

Weight limit: 75 pounds

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is our top choice, a robust full-size jogger stroller that has impressive maneuverability and running capability with three wheels. Whether you are in the city, grassy, sandy beach, or hilly terrains, the stroller glides like a dream on one hand. The robust tires and suspensions ensure an ultra-smooth ride for you and your child. You can also lock the front swivel wheel to gain speed when running. We also love the twisted handbrake because it gives you better control.

Unlike many joggers recommended for toddlers over 6 months, the Thule jogger is suitable for use from day one with a car seat. It is compatible with many popular car seat brands like Chicco, Graco, Britax Maxi-Cosi, Safety 1 st, UPPAbaby Mesa, Nuna, and Peg Perego using adapters. However, you must remember it’s not safe to run with a small baby who can’t sit up on its own. We were also impressed that it can accommodate a weight of up to 75 pounds making it ideal for big kids, as well.

Below is a quick 2-min video of the Thule Urban Glide 2 standard-size stroller by the manufacturer:

The Thule jogger stroller is not only sporty and sleek; it’s super comfy for your child with a nicely padded reclining seat and oversized canopy with mesh. Parents also love that it has an adjustable handlebar, one-handed fold, and large basket that is covered and waterproof to keep items safe.

If you need a jogger stroller with full-size features, the Thule stroller is an excellent choice that is well rated.

Pros
  • Solid construction and top quality materials that will last
  • Maneuvers easily on flat and rugged terrains
  • Adjustable handlebar
  • One-handed fold
  • Large waterproof storage basket with cover
Cons
  • Pricey
  • It’s quite long, tricky to turn on tight corners
  • Large fold, may not fit trunks of small cars, but wheels can be removed

2. Baby Jogger City Mini GT2

2. Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 full sized stroller

Dimensions: 45 x 21 x 44 inches

Weight: 21.4 pounds

Weight limit: 65 pounds

The City Mini GT2 is our second option because it’s just the perfect size; not too large or heavy yet, spacious, and has all the features of a full-size stroller at a good price point.

Its most shining features are an adjustable handlebar and large wheels with all-wheel suspension, both of which make this stroller a delight to push and maneuver on any terrain.

You can use this stroller for your newborn with any Baby jogger infant car seat, and it comes conveniently with adapters for connecting. It is also compatible with other car seat brands, so you have maximum freedom to make it into your travel system with your car seat of choice. What’s more, this stroller is expandable to allow older siblings to ride along when they get tired of walking. But, for this, you will need to buy the glider board separately.

This stroller has a near-flat reclining seat and adjustable calf support making for a comfortable napping position, and the large UPF 50+ canopy provides additional comfort by providing shade. You can also peek in to see how they are doing through the peek-a-boo window in the canopy.

Lastly, this stroller has a one-hand fold and automatic lock for easy storage and transportation.

Below is a helpful video comparison by Magic Bean of Thule Urban Glide 2 and Baby Jogger City Mini GT2:

Pros
  • Tires can handle any type of terrain
  • Easy to fold and unfold using one hand
  • Wheels can be removed for an even more compact fold
  • Multi-recline padded seat
  • Decent sized canopy with magnetic window
  • Adjustable handlebar with leather for comfortable grip
  • Great price
Cons
  • No pockets or cup holders, but they sell parent consoles separately
  • Handbrake may be inconvenient for some users
  • Small storage basket

3. UPPAbaby Vista V2

Dimensions: 36 x 26 x 40 inches

Weight: 27 pounds

Weight limit: 50 pounds for the stroller

The Vista V2 is third on our list because it converts for multiple children and has premium features. For example, it converts in multiple ways to use with an infant, toddler, and even an older sibling to transport up to three kids at once!

Unlike most strollers that can carry two kids in tandem mode, the V2 can accommodate two car seats, two bassinets, or two regular stroller seats at the same time and add in a kickboard for the older sibling. In addition, with appropriate adapters, you can use it with different car seat brands such as Chicco, Maxi Cosi, Nuna, and Cybex. Better still, you can go for the UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat, which pairs seamlessly with no adapters and saves you money.

Speaking of saving money, this is the only full-size stroller with a bassinet, which is a huge plus because it’s something less to buy. The bassinet itself is of high quality with a mattress pad, vented base, and canopy with pop-out shade so you can use it on your outing and for overnight sleep!

Below is a quick 2-mins video by UPPAbaby, the manufacturer of this brand;

As we mentioned earlier, this stroller has some features that you can only find in high-end strollers. One of them is reversible seating where the baby can face you (very beneficial for small babies) or the world. Second is a footrest that moves along with a backrest for ultimate comfort during naps, a leather handlebar, a canopy that slides up and down, and flip-flop-friendly brakes, so you never have to worry that your pedicure will be ruined.

You can fold this stroller easily, and you don’t even need to remove the car seat, which is very convenient. It also auto-locks and is self-standing, making it a great option for travel.

It also features one of the most spacious baskets of all strollers (30 pounds) and a pocket to keep your valuables like your phone and keys safe.

Pros
  • Includes a high-quality bassinet
  • Can accommodate up to three kids
  • Easy one-step folding, self stand, and automatic lock
  • The extra-large storage basket can fit diaper bag plus shopping bags
  • It folds even with two seats attached
  • Telescoping handlebar
  • A canopy that slides up and down to provide maximum protection as your child grows
  • Flip flop friendly parking brake
Cons
  • Even though it is easy to fold, it requires using both hands
  • Becomes difficult to steer with more kids on board
  • Expensive

6. UPPAbaby Cruz v2

Dimensions: 37.5 x 22.8 x 40 inches

Weight: 25.5 pounds

Weight limit: 50 pounds

The Cruz is a luxurious stroller like its sister, the Vista, and we love it because it has a more compact build and is cheaper while retaining all the extra features. If only it was lighter!

This stroller offers your child a comfortable ride even on rougher terrain and has exceptional smooth handling. You can use it with one child or two with a glider board (sold separately). Even though it uses foam wheels, parents say it provides a super smooth ride akin to air-filled rubber tires, and the telescoping handlebar with leather grip makes it enjoyable to push.

You can convert this stroller to a travel system with a UPPAbaby Mesa car seat, and it clicks in right in with no adapters needed. But it’s also compatible with Chicco, Nuna, Cybex, and Maxi-Cosi car seats. It also accepts UPPA bassinet and Piggybacks ride along the board to meet your transportation needs.

The Cruz toddler seat is deep and very comfortable. It also features a one-handed multi-position recline and has a no-rethread harness for easier and faster adjustment. In addition, the seat is reversible, allowing the baby to face you or face forward.

7. Chicco Bravo Le Stroller

Dimensions: 36 x 22 x 43 inches

Weight: 23 pounds

Weight limit: 50 pounds

The Chicco Bravo LE is the latest stroller model from Chicco, and we reckon it’s a solid choice that comes with tons of features and a stylish look. With a lightweight design, one-handed opening and closing, and an adjustable handlebar that is comfortable to push, this full-size stroller is perfect for travel or everyday use on pavements, sidewalks, and shopping malls. Not just that, the stroller has a decent-sized storage basket to fit the diaper bag and any essential items you want to carry, and two detachable trays, one for you and the other for your baby’s sippy cups and snacks.

The canopy has a mesh peek-a-boo window that can be opened or closed, and it can stretch low to provide maximum protection against the sun. Even when it gets dirty, you should not worry as the seat cushion is removable, reversible, and machine washable. Not many strollers can match Chicco’s user-friendliness in this regard.

It is suitable to use for everyday use for shopping trips and sidewalk strolls but not so much on rough terrains. When folded, it stores and locks automatically into a self-standing position, which you can do on one hand and the baby in the other. This stroller is compatible with Chicco Keyfit and Fit2 car seats.

Compared to similar strollers, the Chicco Bravo LE proves to be a valuable purchase that includes all the necessary features and extras for a reasonable price.

8. Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite Stand-On Tandem Stroller

Dimensions: 37 x 21.5 x 41.5 inches

Weight: 22 pounds

Weight limit: 90 pounds, 45 for each seat

At just 22 pounds, the Joovy Caboose Ultralight tandem stroller is one of the lightest double strollers. This stroller has a stand n sit configuration designed to be easy to push and maneuver. Although it doesn’t have many bells and whistles, it’s an excellent compact stroller for running errands with two toddlers or a baby and a sibling.

The stroller has a capacity for two seats, each accommodating up to 45 pounds of weight. You can have a toddler in the front seat or an infant using a car seat (includes adapters for major brands) while an older child can sit on the bench seat or stand on the platform. You can also buy the caboose rear seat, which converts the bench seat into a proper reclining seat. We love the newly designed extra-wide canopy because now it stretches to shield both kids from the sun.

The stroller also has a parent organizer that can hold two beverages and has a convenient zippered pocket for keys, phone, or wallet. There is also additional storage space in the basket underneath.

It is our top Graco full-size stroller, among its entire series of strollers. It is affordable, easy to use, and will serve your child for a long time. One of the best things parents love about this system is that the car seat clicks right into the stroller and base with no hassle. An audible click confirms that it’s well latched.

The second amazing feature is the FastAction Fold-just one quick motion and it folds up or one quick pull, and it opens up again. It’s very convenient when you are on the move and only have one hand free. Once folded, it is also easy to carry and fits in the trunk of most cars.

The stroller is very cozy for your child; the seat reclines to allow for naps and a large canopy provides shade. There is also a peek-a-boo mesh on the canopy where you can check on your child without stopping or disturbing their sleep.

Full-size Strollers Buying Guide 2022

Full-size stroller vs Travel system

Both full-size strollers and travel systems are suitable for newborns because they accept infant car seats. The difference is that a travel system is sold as a set consisting of an infant car seat and stroller (full size or umbrella) while a full-size stroller alone requires you to buy the infant car seat separately, or they have a flat recline, so the baby lays flat like in a bassinet.

The benefit of buying an infant car seat and stroller separately is that you choose the brand and quality you want. On the other hand, travel systems are cheaper and more convenient because they are designed to connect seamlessly.

Compact/small or full-size stroller

Compact and full-size strollers are very similar in style and functionality. The main difference between them is the size. Compact strollers are just a little bit smaller and narrower but offer the same bells and whistles as full-size strollers.

How we picked the best full-sized strollers

After reading through hundreds of parent reviews and evaluating the features they wanted the most, we determined that the best full-size strollers should meet the following:

Be suitable to use from birth through toddlerhood: the full-size stroller should be able to accommodate a newborn until 3 to 5 years of age. In order to be safe and comfortable for newborns, it should offer a flat bassinet-like recline position or be compatible with an infant car seat. A higher weight limit of over 50 pounds was a good indicator it will last until the toddler no longer needs to use the stroller.

Easy to push and maneuver: usually, a stroller’s wheel size, wheelbase, size, and weight determine how easily it rolls and maneuvers. We found that larger wheels provide an easier ride over uneven terrains and curbs. But on the other hand, a lightweight and more compact stroller with a small wheelbase requires minimal effort to push. Most parents loved the smooth ride of air-filled tires with built-in suspension, but these are often in jogging strollers. In general, however, full-sized strollers use foam-filled rubber wheels which are less durable but still offer a smooth ride. So we favored full-size strollers with rubber tires and foam wheels and did not like strollers with plastic wheels that are the least durable.

Easy to use: the best full-size strollers should be simple to use with a fussy baby. This means it should be easy to buckle a child, easy to adjust the seat recline, have linked brakes that you can engage by simply stepping on a pedal, and easy to fold and unfold.

Easy to carry and store: we preferred strollers that collapse with a push of a button or pull on a strap and do not require removing the seat before folding. These are convenient to use in a hurry when you are on the go. We did not choose heavy strollers that are cumbersome to lift and carry around.

Convertible to carry multiple kids: we chose some models that could be expanded with an extra seat, or riding board to accommodate two or three passengers.

Provide great value: We opted for more reasonably priced models that have been rated as sturdy, stylish, high quality, and have full features just like high-end strollers which cost over $1000.

Be feature-rich: a good full-size stroller should have a five-point safety harness, a canopy to protect against the sun, and a storage basket to carry necessities. However, we also love when it comes with convenient features like an adjustable handlebar, reversible seat, peek-a-boo window, parent and child trays with cup holders, rain cover, bumper bar, etc.
