The Best Trampolines for Teens & Kids 2022 – Safety Considered

Before going through this guide with reviews of the best trampolines for pre-teens, kids, and teenagers, I want to give you some background on our research that got us this 2022 list.

When we asked our small group of parents in our Facebook group about what they knew about the best trampoline available, one parent who is always excited to share her unique views about baby products wasn’t as excited about trampolines. She mentioned that most available information or ‘third-party’ reviews were fake. And she was right.

In 2019, there was a disturbing case the FTC finally settled with a trampoline company that was promoting two brands ( Infinity Trampolines and Olympus Pro Trampolines) using unscrupulous ways. The two brothers created several websites about trampolines and created a fake seal; the “Trampoline Safety of America” logo. They also used the internet’s accessibility to leave thousands of fake reviews on legitimate sites.

I had to mention the story above because over 100,000 trampoline injuries are reported every year in the US. Over a million spent time in emergency rooms between 2002 and 2011 and 93% of the injured were children. This is where it hurts most. As a parent myself, I would hate myself knowing that I bought a faulty trampoline that got my child some neurological damage. Yes, one child in every 200 experiences permanent neurological damage because of these injuries.

With our aim to remain honest and transparent in our guidance to parents on what they should purchase for their kids, the Motherhood HQ team (myself and three other members) reached out to several parents and organizations that have actually tested these trampolines. While some were very supportive because of our objectivity to actually rank and decide which trampoline was the overall best, a few were asking for links. Interesting to note that those who were asking for links had not actually done the tests themselves.

Close to 100 parents have rated this trampoline 4.3/5 and most parents liked that it is spring-free and therefore perhaps the safest in the market. Springfree, the company behind this top-rated trampoline replaced metal springs with flexible composite rods under a softEdge mat. You can be sure that the softEdge mat will not let your baby’s fingers and hands wouldn’t be caught.

Here are other reasons we like this top trampoline:

The springs are placed at intervals creating a very consistent bounce. A basketball is also included but can be attached using velcro. As a parent, I was only satisfied that the net is sewn directly to the jumping pad, and the springs are below.

This trampoline comes with a weight limit of 220 lbs. and can be used by kids up to 6 years and above. When it comes to stability, it has 6 W-shaped legs and the frame is made with durable galvanized rust-resistant steel. The poles are outside of the jumping area and the mat features a V-ring connection which eliminates gaps. So, you can be sure of your child’s safety

3. Skywalker Trampolines Rectangle

The rectangular Skywalker brand of trampoline came third and is the favorite for gymnasts as they provide the best bounce. While this brand uses springs, they all operate independently creating an even and coordinated bounce and landing. This trampoline was first released on October 21, 2021, and currently scores a 78% 5-star rating in more than 700 reviews.

Skywalker provides 92sq. ft jumping space with this trampoline which is bigger than the oval and round options. However, the weight limit is not so much different from the three as this one has a 250 lbs. limit. Like with most of its trampolines, there is a patented enclosure that helps reduce the gaps between the jumping surface and net. Your kiddos will always be safe.

The 12-gauge steel frame is very great as it provides an anchor to the frame as it bounces. The bounces on this trampoline are very high but it has a net enclosure with no gaps to keep your baby within the bouncing pad. We love that this trampoline uses 2 different types of springs which makes it very sturdy even your kiddo is bouncing on it.

Zupapa trampoline is highly praised and comes in a round shape like most in the review. We also ranked it fourth in this list as it is among the most popular brand that we love for quality and reliability. Zupapa is perhaps the safest trampoline in the market with its TUV certified materials, heavy gauge springs, and enclosure without gaps.

This trampoline made its debut on June 17, 2020. We included it in our list since most parents and kids love it and leave a lot of positive reviews. For additional safety and stability of the bouncing kids, it has a 360 degree padded handlebar. The handlebar also makes it excellent for kids under 5 years who are not sturdy jumpers.

It comes with a weight limit of 100 lbs.

While this trampoline may be considered as a scaled-down version of a regular trampoline, I like it because it almost guarantees you the safety you would want for your toddler. It uses stretch bands and does not have springs (Springfree) which is good and softer on joints, although this limits the bounce height! In addition, it is closer to the ground and is very ideal for indoor bouncing.
