The Evenflo Xpand is one of the best travel systems in the market, especially for growing families. If you have twins or two kids in a close age range, this travel system is a great choice to consider.

The Xpand is able to transform from a single to double stroller to accommodate two kids, which saves you money and the hassle of getting a second stroller. Since they are sisters with the Pivot Modular, they have a lot of things in common.

Similarities

Evenflo Pivot Modular Travel System Vs Xpand

Both travel systems come with a SafeMax infant car seat with premium safety and comfort features for your baby. The SafeMax car seat is suitable for infants from birth to 35 pounds.

Both travel systems easily accept the car seat without needing adapters. In addition, their strollers are designed with a slide and lock-in feature that lets you simply line up the car seat and lock it in place (some reviewers find the lining up to be a bit challenging even though it becomes easier the more you do it).

Both travel systems have a reversible stroller seat that allows the child to face either forward or rear in any mode. In addition, the seat also reclines flat, converting to a bassinet mode which is comfortable for infants and newborns, and napping.

Both strollers have a 3 position recline for additional comfort when riding or napping and can be adjusted with one hand, which is great.

Both strollers have a compact self-standing fold, making for easy storage in a corner or in a small storage space because you can store the strollers upright.

Both have a very easy and smooth folding and opening mechanism, but you need to use two hands. You pull on the two levers on each side of the frame to collapse the strollers and pull the latch outward to open.

Both strollers come with large baskets that are great for grocery shopping trips and holding you and your baby’s essentials for a day out. However, the Xpand basket is humongous, 2 feet long to accommodate essentials for two kids.

Both come with a large 3-panel canopy, which will cover most of your baby when you are out strolling under the sun.

Both strollers have a parent cup holder so you can take your refreshing drink with you when you go for long walks with your baby.

Both travel systems have rear-wheel suspension and front-wheel swivel functions to provide a smooth ride for your child.

Differences

Xpand is a convertible system that transitions from single to double stroller to accommodate infant and toddler or newborn twins with an additional car seat. On the other hand, the Pivot is for a single child.

Xpand stroller seat has a higher weight limit of up to 55 pounds per child while Pivot is up to 50 pounds.

Xpand offers you the versatility of high-end brands with up to 22 different ways to ride, while the Pivot is limited to only 6.

Xpand has linked brake systems that bring it to a stop in a single step, while Pivot needs you to engage the brake for each rear wheel.

Although both have a self-standing fold, Xpand is not very compact. You have to remove the crossbar on the seat (except if you are squeezing in the boot of large cars) and adjust the handle so it goes all the way up to enable it to self stand when folded, which makes it a lot less convenient than folding the Pivot.

Conclusion

Both of these strollers are great budget-friendly options that you can get a lot of use from. Not only do they function as strollers, but also as travel systems, not to mention different ways that your child can ride. Obviously, if you want to use it with just one child, there would be no need to get the heavier and bulky Xpand, which is designed for two children.
