I previously explained how to assemble the Mamaroo baby swing and in this post, I have provided step-by-step guidance on how to disassemble it by removing straps and putting it back in the box. To start with, let’s take a look at some of the equipment you need before you begin.
What You’ll Need:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Allen wrench (included in the Mamaroo box)
- Wrench set (optional)
- A large surface to work on (empty table or floor are ideal)
- Flathead screwdriver (optional)
Step 1: Remove the toy bar;
The toy bar is the piece of plastic that holds toys in place overhead. To remove it, just use your hand as it should come off easily when pulled from the sides. If you encounter any resistance, use your Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws and take it apart.
Step 2: Unscrew the side panels and fold back fabric seat;
Using an Allen wrench turn all four screws located on each side of the Mamaroo counterclockwise. Once they’re loose, you can remove the side panels. Then, fold back the fabric seat and take out the base of the swing. Make sure you undo the snaps on both sides of the seat before removing it from the base.
Step 3: Remove the seat side rails;
The seat side rails are pieces of metal that run along the sides of the Mamaroo swing. To remove them, use a wrench to unscrew all four screws on each side rail. Once they’re loose, carefully slide off the top plastic piece and take out the bottom metal railing.
You should be able to remove the top plastic piece by hand but if you encounter any resistance, use your flat head screwdriver to pry it off.
Step 4: Take out the seat straps;
The Mamaroo swing has four straps that keep the seat in place. You can easily remove them by pulling on both ends of each strap until they come undone. Be careful not to pull too hard as the straps may tear if stretched too far.
Step 5: Unlock the seat recline switch;
The recline switch is located on the side of the Mamaroo seat and it’s used to adjust the angle of the seat. To unlock it, press down on the small button before turning the switch counterclockwise. Once unlocked, you can fold up your mamaroo for storage or transport.
Step 6: Press the button for 5 seconds;
Finally, before putting the Mamaroo back in its box, press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off. This will ensure that your swing is not accidentally turned on during transport or storage.
This will recline the swing’s base to the home position.
Step 7: Fold up the frame;
The Mamaroo frame can be folded up to make it more compact for storage or transport. To do this, first press down on the two latch-like buttons located at the rear of the swing before pushing inwards on either side of the frame. You should then be able to fold up the Mamaroo until it locks into place.
Step 8: Zip up the carrying bag;
Once you have all the pieces disassembled, you can put them back in the box and zip up the carrying bag. This will ensure that your Mamaroo is safe and secure during transport or storage.
