In November 2021, OOTDAY released its first baby monitor, the OOTDAY Baby Monitor with a 5-inch LCD screen. Despite being a new brand, OOTDAY describes itself as a security solutions company with over 200 employees in its Shenzhen factories. You can read more about the company here.

OOTDAY Baby Monitor Review

Barely 6 months since the release of OOTDAY 5″ HD Baby Monitor with Camera and Audio, this brand is gaining great reception from parents that have used it. Over 20 parents have given it an average rating of 4.5/5 which is pretty decent for a new brand with no brand recognition like Motorola, VTech, Nanit, Owlet, and Philips which have a long track record of manufacturing quality baby products.

Keep a watchful eye on your little one with this high-resolution 1080p baby monitor. The large 5” color display allows you to see your child with four times the clarity of 720p monitors. The camera is mounted on a flexible arm for easy viewing and includes all the accessories you need to get started.

I was personally drawn to OOTDAY because it has an SD card slot and you can use it to record your baby continuously. Other baby monitors that allow continuous streaming and recording are wifi-enabled security cameras such as Arlo and Google Nest. OOTDAY records to local storage and you don’t have to pay monthly subscription fees to access the footage. It, however, does not come with TF/Micro SD card but you can get it on Amazon for less than $15. Check the SD cards here.

You can check out the best baby monitors that record with SD card here.

Another unique feature that this non-wifi video baby monitor has is the 1080p HD resolution screen. Most non-wifi baby monitors did not traditionally have HD resolution screens with a few select brands such as Infant Optics DXR 8 Pro, Eufy Spaceview and Vava baby monitor only having 720p HD resolution. This is my first 1080p HD resolution camera that does not use wifi.

That’s not the only thing you’ll like about this monitor, though.

OOTDAY Video Baby Monitor Features:

Long Range:

The OOTDAY Baby Monitor is a safe and secure way to keep an eye on your baby while you’re at home. With a range of 1000 feet, our system allows you to see and hear your baby in crystal-clear HD video and audio. I have also reviewed my list of best long-range baby monitors here.

OOTDAY Baby Monitor is a high-quality baby monitor system, that provides you with the most stable and secure video monitoring experience. It uses 2.4GHz channel FHSS technology to transmit audio and video signals from your nursery to a dedicated 5-inch LCD screen.

FHSS is a non-wifi technology that utilizes the 2.4 GHz frequency band to transmit its signals securely. This technology was discovered back during World War 2 and it powered secret communications of the Allies as they could not be intercepted. This technology is now being utilized in baby monitors as well.

Remotely control the camera:

OOTDAY allows you to remotely control the camera by panning or tilting it to get the best angle of your baby’s footage.  You can pan 360° to see every corner of their room and tilt 120° to see floor to ceiling.

Other cameras that don’t have this remote-controlling feature of the camera requires you to walk to your baby’s room every time you want to adjust the view of the camera which is pretty annoying.

The monitor is expandable with up to four cameras, so you can keep an eye on all the action. You can use it to monitor multiple kids in different rooms.

Alarms and 2-way talk:

This top-of-the-line video and audio baby monitor features an instant alarm system that alerts you immediately when your infant is crying, as well as a two-way talk communication system so you can talk and soothe them. Its 8 built-in lullabies will also help keep them asleep.

Customer support:

OOTDAY claims to have ultra-responsive customer support based here in the US. They claim that they will answer any of your questions within 12 hours. It goes a long way if the customer support is within the US and can actually talk to a person when you have a problem. I couldn’t find their phone number though but their US support email is;

Another top-rated non-wifi baby monitor brand called Infant Optics and based here in the US has excellent customer support and that has earned them significant acclaim with its top-notch customer support.

Long Battery Life:

This baby monitor comes with a large-capacity 3,600mAh rechargeable battery which lasts for up to 9 hours of continuous use.

Feeding and temperature alarm:

The OOTDAY also features a special feeding alarm that lets you know when it’s time to feed your baby. You can also use the built-in temperature sensor to monitor indoor or outdoor temperatures and receive alerts on your phone if the temperature reaches dangerous levels.

Easy to install:

The OOTDAY Baby Monitor comes with a Detachable flexible mount included so you can easily attach the camera to the crib. The camera can also sit on a desk, or it can be mounted on a wall with screws. You won’t need to invest in an additional crib, table or wall mounting kits.

High-Quality Night vision:

This monitor also features high-quality night vision, allowing you to see your baby even in the dark. With its infrared LED sensor, the OOTDAY can capture clear footage of your sleeping infant up to 16 feet away in complete darkness.
